| 03.14.05...The news stories I have today are particularly interesting. Fist, we have the story of a man from the Homeland Security office who is making claims that Tom Ridge became upset after he did his job and sent a report of the departments activities to Congress. Ridge allegedly got angry when critical information was not excluded from the report even after he had requested such changes. Read the story, it really shows how the Bush administration consistently micro manages a false reality for the American people. This goes way beyond Homeland Security too. Proving that neo-cons care more about their ability to influence a candidate rather than the color of their skin we get the Condi Rice for President Trial Balloon. She was on the weekend show giving a "aw shucks not me" reply to the rumors. Lets see - she has a long record of failure, an ability to dodge the truth or responsibility, and a set of opinions undeterred by facts. Looks like the 50 year old virgin would be the perfect candidate for Red America. The Iraq Looting story really puts into perspective just how incompetent the Bush administration is. One of the major justifications for invading the country was to protect the world from the threat of weapons kept in these locations. But when we got in we let the looters have it all. Opening Day of the baseball season is not less than 3 weeks away. I saw 'Million Dollar Baby' this weekend. I thought it was good but doubt it is the Best picture of the year like the Acadamy of Motion Pictures say. I think I figured out why the right wingers are organized against it. One of the lead characters repeatedly questions a priest about all major articles of faith. At one point the frustrated priest says that the only people who come to church everyday do so because they can't forgive themselves for something. -A little to close to the bone for Red America. Questioning, doubting are certainly not really in favor these days and showing a religious figure speaking outside their selected text is as unwelcome on the big screen as Scott McClellan speaking off script would be embraced at a news conference. Stay on script- don't question or doubt- and stay out of trouble of all the moral crusaders out there! Remember though, do as they say and not as they do. |
