| WHATS WITH ALL THE FUN STUFF? |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Well the main reason is that I have been in a good mood. Having limited time this week to do a complete update every day I have been just trying to quickly mix in some fun in with the serious work we usually to do. It was very refreshing and the timing couldn't have been better. Taking a step back I think I see that the tide is turning. [Warning: Eternal optimist reappearing] The "Conservative" movement is vulnerable now with the Republican party in trouble with both moderates and right wingers simultaneously. Bush's approval rating are the lowest of his Presidency. Moderates think that Bush and the Republicans went WAY too far on the Schiavo case. They are seeing how they will seize any power any time they feel it warranted and use the most respectable reasons for cover. Religious Conservatives think that the GOP politicians did not go far enough to save Terri Schiavo. Randall Terry, who lead protests at the hospice which was quickly followed by Congressional and Presidential action, sounds 1 step away from calling for an abandonment of the GOP. How long moderates will remember the blatant power grab remains to be seen but it is likely that they are now more willing to consider those of us showing a pattern of such behaviour by Republicans. So yes, the tide may be turning. Like I said I'm in a good mood. So Laugh with me. Check back Saturday evening for a brand new MQAblog. |
